Do you want to have a unique ceiling fan installed in your home to give your room some added character? Are you looking for an “artistic” ceiling fan that doesn’t come with a premium price tag? With Westinghouse Solana provides a solution for your problem with an affordable price and a clean, modern design. This two blade indoor ceiling fan provides air movement for rooms up to 144 square feet and size, uses only 49 watts of power when the lights are off, and the curved blades provide an added dramatic appeal. Best of all, it’s priced on Amazon for about $150, or 50% less than other artistic ceiling fan options.

What Features Do You Get With the Westinghouse Solana?

The Westinghouse Solana is a 48 inch diameter fan that offers you an opal light fixture that is made from frosted glass. This gives it a bit of a traditional feel while still adding a touch of visual appeal once the installation has been completed. The blades are made from plywood, but have a brushed nickel finish, so there is added durability to the construction of the fan. The bulbs are candelabra sized 60 watt ½ bulbs, so replacement lights might be a little difficult to find, but otherwise the Solana is a ceiling fan that is simple to install and use.

There’s these additional features to consider as well:

  • a remote control is included with the fan so that it can be used from a distance or from the switch on the wall;
  • it provides an airflow speed of up to 3,300 cubic feet per minute, or about 68 cfm per watt; and
  • there is a reversible switch incorporated so that energy savings can be experienced during every season.

There might be other ceiling fans on the market today that are more powerful than the Westinghouse Solana, but there are very few that can offer the combination of artistic style and air movement. If you want a good combination of form and function, then you’re going to want to get this ceiling a fan a look or two.

What Advantages Does the Westinghouse Solana Have?

There are a lot of ceiling fans that say they are quiet, but the end result is that they tend to sound like a helicopter once you turn them on. The Westinghouse Solana is surprisingly quiet for the amount of air that it moves, especially when the two-blade design is considered. There’s a lot of power behind this fan and the motor is backed by a lifetime warranty, which is a definite plus!

The one down side of this ceiling fan is that it does tend to overheat somewhat when standard light bulbs are used with it. If you need to use the fan as a light source, we recommend investing into LED light bulbs. Otherwise you may end up smelling a bit of a burning new car smell after having the lights on for awhile.

The Westinghouse Solana might have a fault or two, but it also provides a lot of extra artistic value, especially at this price point. That’s why we have no hesitation in recommending it as one of the best ceiling fans that is on the market today.
